Students have strong opinions and like expressing them. Many typing teachers report that the advice column question-and-response format motivates their students to type, type, type! Try this activity in one of two ways:

1. Collect and clip a number of advice columns from newspapers or magazines and then have students type the material.
2. Have students become an advice columnist by writing a question or short problem and then answering it. Collect the results, create a file, and post them for all to use. Update this file frequently for variety.
