By positioning directional, area and strip lighting in the editor, objects are specifically illuminated, allowing for deeper intensity of colors and shading.

Lights positioned in the editor are created as entities and can be examined using the Concept Explorer | Entities.

Lights positioned in the editor can be manipulated using the Gripper and manipulated or deleted as a normal entity.

The calibration of light attributes is done by double-clicking onto the light source and updating the information in the Inspector.

In the example below, the Distant light has been placed in the editor and the Gripper is used to manipulate the angle.

Spot

The spotlight produces a conical beam, similar to a torch beam, which illuminates the object from a specific direction.

In the example below, the light is seated on point 1 and directed to point 2.

A Point Light source, when placed in a perpendicular plane to an object, will illuminate that surface only, casting parallel faces into shadow.

This light source emits a beam similar to a neon light. The start and end points of the strip are defined by 2 points, shown below.

This is a directional light source which illuminates objects similar to outdoor light.

The diffusion on objects illuminated by this light source is done to provide an illusion of sunlight.

Area

This light feature is affixed to a mesh, surface or face of a solid to emit a light from space.

In the example below, the Area light is seated on the face indicated by the arrow.

Manipulating light sources

The angle of the beam is modified by selecting the light source and using the GripperModify | Gripper to manipulate the axes such that the beam is directed at a specific target.

In the example below, a Point light is placed at the origin shown by point 1 and the beam is directed to point 2.

The Gripper is used to redirect the angles so that the beam is directed at the wall shown by point 3.

The calibration of the light attributes is done by double-clicking onto the light source and updating the information in the Inspector, shown below. In this example, a spot light is placed on point 1 and directed to point 2 with the intention of illuminating the green cylinder.
