In this Task

• Part 2 will be drawn in the same drawing as the previous Session.
• A layer-set named ‘Part 2 Sketch and Part 2 Model are already created for this purpose.
• The layers which contain the sketch and model of Parts 1, 3, 4 and 5 will be deactivated at the top level.

• Strict layer control is necessary when drawing multiple parts in the same drawing.

Part 2 | Model Layer

Open the Concept Explorer and activate as current the Model layer for Part 2. The Layers for Parts 1, 3, 4 and 5 are deactivated at top level, shown below.

Extrude Solid

Modify | Draw | Solid from Curves | Extrude Solid

A closed profile can be extruded by providing a positive or negative distance from the sketch.

Select the Extrude Solid tool from the toolbar or use Modify | Draw | Solid from Curves | Extrude Solid.

TAB to the Distance field and input a value of 12. Make sure the option is set to Distance.

Use a pick window to select all the objects. The result is shown below. In the illustration below, the color has been changed to Tangerine. Position the cursor over the model, right click and select Color. The Tangerine color is selected from the Crayons palette.
