You can control which layer a shape is on by moving it to the front or moving it back behind other shapes.

To control layering of detail shapes

1 Choose the Select Objects button from the Editing Tools group.

2 Right-click the shape you want to edit and choose Bring to Front or Send to Back from the shortcut menu.
