Hole Feature

Modify | Solid Feature | Hole Feature

This tool allows the creation of a predefined hole which automatically subtracts the hole material from a solid.

This tool is useful for creating a hollow extrusion through a solid by penetrating the depth of the solid.

When using the Hole feature, a hole or recess can be drilled through a solid object either by indicating a Depth or Through option. In this example, a hole will be created which extrudes directly from the outer face of the upright unit to the opposite face, even though there is a void between them.

Select the Hole feature from the toolbar or use Modify> Solid Feature > Hole Feature. TAB to the edit fields and input the values shown below.

Select the face shown below, then use the Center snap to find the center on this face.

Left click only when the Center snap is found, shown above. The result is shown below.
