Subtracts the area in common between two polygons. If a portion or portions of both of the polygons remain, the portions are still recognized as a part of their original polygon.

Point 1: First polygon

Point 2: Second polygon

The common area between the two polygons is removed. The only portions that remain are portions that were exclusive to one or the other of the two original polygons.
