This tool allows the creation of a predefined hole which automatically subtracts the hole material from a solid.

This tool is useful for creating a hollow extrusion through a solid by penetrating the depth of the solid.

A convenient method of creating a hollow extrusion which penetrates the entire depth of the part is to use the Hole tool. This tool requires a face on which to place the hole, the diameter and a depth, with the option to penetrate through the object.

Two holes of diameters 30 and 21 will be extruded through the cylindrical ends of the part.

Select the Hole tool from the toolbar or use Modify > Solid Feature > Hole.

From the options menu, select Simple Hole, then select the Through option. Input a Depth of 40 and a Diameter of 30, shown below.

Select the top face of the cylinder, using the Ambiguity Popup to select the correct Part. Left click only when the center is found, shown below.

Repeat this for the other side, creating a hole with a diameter of 21, shown below.
