  • Switching a layer off.

Before you Start

Take Note

  • Take care not to move objects around the editor after their associated layers have been switched off.

TurboCAD Explorer

Window | TurboCAD Explorer
New layers are created so that specific object properties such as color, visibility etc, can be more easily controlled.

When a new layer is created and activated as the current layer, all subsequent objects drawn in the editor will automatically be drawn on this layer.

Objects which were previously drawn on another layer can be moved to a new layer using the Inspector.

Note : This step is not necessary if you are using the sample drawing for this Session.

Using the TurboCAD Explorer, create a new layer named Part 1 Model, shown below.

Creating a new layer for the Model

Make a copy of the sketch objects shown below then move these to the newly created Part 1 Model layer.

Creating a copy of the sketch & dimensions

Switch off the Dimension and Part 1 Sketch layer.

The remaining objects in the editor are shown below.

Objects remaining in the editor

Remove all objects which are not critical to the production of the 3D model so that the result is similar to the illustration below when viewed in Isometric view. Right click in the editor and select View > Isometric to view the sketch in an isometric view.
