Mate Faces

This assembly tool aligns the planar faces of two solids so that they are both facing in opposite directions.

Use the Dynamic Rotate tool so that the underside of the fixing and the outer face of Part 2 are visible, similar to the illustration below.

Select the Connection > Mate tool and select the underside of the top face of the fixing, shown by the arrow below.

Select the outer face of Part 2, shown below.

The fixing will rotate so that is aligned to the outer face of Part 2, with the planar surfaces facing in opposite directions.

Next, select the fixing, then move it from the vertex shown below to the quadrant of the hole on the outer face of Part 2, shown below.

 

The result is shown below.

Mirror

Using a similar method to that described earlier in this task, mirror the bottom fixing to opposite side, using the quadrant point at the base of Part 1, shown by the arrow below. Perform this using Left Side view, below.
