In this Task

  • A circle will be inserted using the center point of an arc.

Associated Tasks

  • Using the snap tools and LogiCursor.

Before you Start

  • Use the Zoom tools to create sufficient magnification to perform this task.

Take Note

  • Snaps, when activated, target convenient points of geometry on an object. They are enabled by default and can be viewed using Window > Snaps.
  • When a point of geometry is targeted, the name of the snap is displayed along with a marker, shown in the illustration below.
  • The LogiCursor automatically tracks to points of geometry and XY alignments.

 

Center Point Circle

Draw | Circle | Center Point Circle
This circle tool draws a single circle by defining the center point and diameter.
The diameter can either be defined by selecting a point in the graphics editor, or by inputting a value into the Diameter field.
The diameter of the circle can be changed after insertion by changing the value in the Diameter edit field.

Select the Center Point Circle tool from the toolbar or use Draw > Circle > Center Point Circle.

Position the cursor at the center of the radius at the top left of the sketch, shown below.

When the LogiCursor finds the center of this arc, TAB to the Diameter field and input 20, press Enter. The result is shown below.

Position the cursor at the center of the arc at the top right of the sketch shown below.

Input 6 into the Diameter field. The result is shown below.
