How to Add Flooring

Floors are the surfaces you walk on inside a room, such as tile in a bathroom, wood in a living room, or carpet in a bedroom. In the software, you can apply these finishes using the Floor tool.

To add flooring, select the Floor tool, then click around the edges of the area where you want the flooring to appear. Think of it like drawing an outline around the room. Click point by point along the boundary, and when you finish, the software will automatically fill the entire area with the flooring material you selected.

This is helpful when you want different rooms to have different finishes. For example, you can fill the kitchen area with tile, the living room with wood flooring, and the bedroom with carpet.

You can also change the material later if you decide to try a different style.

When you create shapes in your design—such as floors, decks, railings, or cabinets—you need a way to control how those shapes are drawn. The Draw Method panel gives you that control.

Think of it as choosing how you want to draw. You can select tools that let you draw straight lines for simple layouts, curved lines for rounded designs, or create custom shapes by clicking point by point. For example, if you are designing a rectangular deck, you would use straight lines. If you are creating a curved patio or railing, you would choose a curved drawing option.
