How to Add Edging

Estimated reading: 2 minutes 29 views

The Edging tool is used to create borders around landscape areas such as flower beds, pathways, patios, or lawn sections. For example, you can use it to define the edge of a garden bed, separate grass from a walkway, or add decorative borders around outdoor features. Edging helps give your landscape design a clean, organized, and finished appearance.

To use the Edging tool, go to the Landscape tab in the main toolbar and select it. Then click in the drawing area to begin placing points around the area you want to outline. Continue clicking to follow the shape of the space, and right-click to finish. You can choose different draw methods from the Properties panel to create straight or angled edges. The Edging Properties section allows you to adjust the width, depth, height, and spacing of the edging before or after placing it.

After placing the edging, you can reshape it by dragging points or segments in the 2D view. In the 3D view, you can select different edging styles and materials, such as stone, brick, or wood, to match your design theme. The Edging tool makes it easy to add structure and visual definition to your landscape layout, improving both functionality and appearance.
