The Smoke Detector tool is used to add smoke detectors to your design for safety planning. A smoke detector is a small device installed on a ceiling or high on a wall that alerts people if smoke is detected. In real homes, smoke detectors are usually placed in hallways, bedrooms, and near living areas to improve safety. In the software, this tool helps you plan proper placement so your design is both realistic and safety-conscious.

To use the Smoke Detector tool, go to the Electrical tab in the main toolbar and select it. Then, click anywhere in the drawing area to place the detector—typically on the ceiling—or drag along a wall if you prefer wall placement. The detector will appear at a default height, just like it would in a real home. If needed, you can adjust its position using the Elevation bar after placement. You can also switch to the 3D view to check how it looks in the space.
