Walls are the basic building blocks of your floor plan. Think of them as the lines that define the shape of your rooms—like the outline of a bedroom, kitchen, or living room. Before you can add doors, windows, or furniture, you first need to draw the walls.

To add a wall, go to the Floor menu in the main toolbar and click on the Wall icon. When you click the small drop-down arrow under the Wall icon, you’ll see different wall options. To draw a wall, select the standard wall option, then click in the drawing area where you want the wall to start. Move your mouse to where you want the wall to end and click again. That’s it—you’ve created a wall.

If you want the wall to be an exact size (for example, exactly 10 feet long), choose the Custom Length option from the drop-down list before placing the wall. This lets you type in the exact measurement first. This is helpful if you are copying measurements from a real house plan or if you want your design to be very accurate. For example, if your real bedroom wall is 12 feet long, you can enter 12 feet so your digital design matches perfectly.
