How to Add a Ground Fill Region

Estimated reading: 2 minutes 35 views

The Ground Fill Region tool is used to create defined areas on your landscape, such as flower beds, mulch areas, gravel sections, or decorative ground coverings. For example, you can use it to design a planting bed around a tree, create a stone pathway area, or define a section of your yard with a different surface material. By default, the region is filled with mulch, but you can easily change the material later to match your design needs.

To use the Ground Fill Region tool, go to the Landscape tab in the main toolbar and select it.

Then click in the drawing area to set the starting point of your region. Continue clicking to outline the shape of the area you want to create. When finished, right-click to close the shape.

You can choose different drawing methods from the Draw Method option to create straight or angled edges depending on your layout.

After placing the region, you can reshape and resize it by dragging its points or segments in the 2D view. In the 3D view, you can apply different materials such as stone, grass, mulch, or gravel to enhance realism. This tool makes it easy to define and customize specific ground areas, helping you create a detailed and visually appealing landscape design.
