How to Add a Freehand Roof

Estimated reading: 1 minute 31 views

The Freehand Roof tool is used to create custom roof shapes that do not follow standard styles like gable or hip roofs. This is helpful when your building has an unusual shape, an extension, or a complex layout. For example, if your house has an L-shaped design or a unique corner addition, a freehand roof lets you match the roof exactly to that shape.

To use the Freehand Roof tool, go to the Roof tab in the main toolbar and select it. Then click in the drawing area to place points around the area where you want the roof. Each click creates a corner of the roof panel. Continue clicking to outline the full shape, and when you are finished, right-click to complete the roof. After placing it, you can adjust its size, slope, and materials in the Properties tab and review the final look in the 3D view.
