The Deck Cutout tool is used to remove part of an existing deck to create an opening. An opening is simply a hole or empty space in the deck. For example, you might create a cutout to install stairs, place a hot tub, or allow access to a lower level. This helps you design more detailed and realistic outdoor spaces.

To use the Deck Cutout tool, go to the Deck tab in the main toolbar and select it. Then choose a draw method (such as straight or custom shape) and draw the shape of the opening directly on the deck surface. The area you draw will be removed from the deck automatically.

After creating the cutout, you can adjust its thickness in the Properties panel if needed. The changes will update automatically in both the 2D view (top view) and the 3D view, so you can clearly see the opening from different angles.
