The Rectangle tool in the Detail tab is used to draw rectangular or square shapes in your floor plan. It is mainly used for adding 2D drafting elements such as outlines, construction details, layout guides, or custom shapes that are not structural components. These shapes help improve the clarity and presentation of your drawings.

To use the Rectangle tool, select the Detail tab and click the rectangle icon. Then click and drag in the drawing area to create the shape. You can use different draw methods from the Properties panel. Holding the SHIFT key while drawing will constrain the shape into a perfect square or remove constraints, depending on your drawing method.

Detail shapes are visible in the 2D view only. However, they can sometimes be converted into other components, such as a deck or railing, if needed. This tool is useful for adding precise drafting details and enhancing the overall documentation of your design.
