How to Apply Spray Topography

Estimated reading: 1 minute 30 views

The Spray Topography tool in the Terrain tab is used to quickly raise or lower the ground surface by “painting” over it. Instead of drawing fixed shapes or lines, this tool lets you freely adjust the terrain using a brush. It is especially useful for creating natural-looking hills, dips, and uneven ground in landscape designs.

To use the Spray Topography tool, select the Terrain tab and click the Spray icon. In the Properties panel, choose the brush shape (Round or Rectangle) and adjust its size. You can also set the Elevation Change value to control how much the ground rises or lowers with each stroke. In the 3D view, click and drag with the left mouse button to raise the terrain, and use the right mouse button to lower it. You can also enable options like smoothing or sharp edges depending on the effect you want.

The Spray Topography tool makes terrain modeling faster and more flexible. It allows you to create smooth, realistic landforms without drawing precise outlines. This improves the visual quality of your landscape and helps produce more natural and professional site designs.
